Over 35 full time / part time assignments as a consultant on projects related to urban and regional planning, infrastructure development, environmental management and disaster management and as a team leader to various public sector and private sector institutions, funded by World Bank, ADB, JICA, UNDP etc.
Team Leader/Land Use Planner/Environmental Management Specialist for preparation of over 15 Environmental Impact Assessments for star class hotels, private hospitals and administrative complexes and Solid waste management reports and Traffic Impact Assessments for private high-rise commercial development projects.
Heavily involved in urban environmental management and urban design projects including an award-winning project in Colombo (Beira lake restoration project), Sri Lanka that became a major attraction for large scale private sector investments and public outdoor recreation.
20 years of teaching experience in Sri Lanka, and Myanmar on subjects related to Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Design, Disaster Management, Environmental Management, Projects Management and Leadership Building etc.
Over 25 research papers written and presented at various national and international forums including China, Australia, India, Seashells and New Zealand, on subjects related to urban and regional planning, environmental management and disaster management.
“Planning Excellence Award” for “Urban Re-development Category” awarded by the Institute of Town Planners, Sri Lanka in 2008, for Beira Lake Restoration Project in Colombo.
“National President’s Award for Planning Excellence” (For Best Performance) from the Planning Institute of Australia, 2008, at the PIA national congress in Sydney, Australia.
